I have always loved hearing about birth stories and watching birth videos. When it was my time to have a baby, this interest only grew. In my first pregnancy, I kept saying, “I wonder if I am going to do something in the future with the birth community?” One year after my son’s birth, I was invited by a friend to be her doula. I knew after this birth that, working with families to support them during this special and unique time in their lives was what I was going to do and I felt it was meant for me.
This was five years ago, and since then I have supported many births, taught many childbirth education classes, and recently started to explore birth story listening. I look forward to meeting with you to discuss your hopes and desires for your upcoming birth.
“There is power that comes to women when they give birth. They don’t ask for it, it simply invades them. Accumulates like a cloud on the horizon and passes through, carrying the child with it.”— Sheryl Feldman
